Ovechkin wins MVP again
Washington Capitals star forward Alexander Ovechkin was named the NHL’s MVP for the second straight season.
Ovechkin was the only player in the league to top the 50 goal mark this year in leading the Capitals to the second round of the playoffs.
He beat out rival Evgeni Malkin, who helped lead the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Stanley Cup.
He was also given the Lester Pearson Award for being the league’s Most Oustanding Player.
