Caps rally back, down Rangers, 4-0
The Washington Capitals stared a 2-0 series deficit in the face in a hostile environment and emerged with a huge, 4-0 victory over the New York Rangers.
The Capitals pounced on the Rangers early, heading into the first intermission up 2-0.
It was an outstanding effort from the team’s rookie goaltender, who received just his second postseason start. In two games, he has allowed just one goal.
Alexander Semin notched two goals as the Capitals peppered the net with shot after shot in hopes of rebound opportunities, which were plentiful.
The Capitals are now down just 2-1 in the series with pivotal Game 4 set for Wednesday in New York. The team then comes home for Game 5.
